Dear students of Don Bosco Erdem Technical School, and especially our new students who have joined our school family today, I warmly welcome all of you.
Today, I would like to share two thoughts with you.
First, I believe that your coming to this school is a special encounter in your life.
There are many schools in the world, and each of you may have had different choices. Yet today, you are here at Don Bosco Erdem Technical High School.
Some of you may have chosen this school because you really wanted to come here. Some may have come because of your parents’ advice. Others may have chosen this school because of your grades, your family situation, or other circumstances.
Whatever the reason may be, I do not think that your being here is simply an accident. There are special connections and encounters in life.
From today, you will meet new teachers and friends. You will learn new skills, gain new experiences, and perhaps discover abilities and strengths in yourselves that you did not know you had.
So, value the time you spend at this school. The people you meet, the things you learn, and the way you live each day here can shape your future.
Second, there is something very important that I want every one of you to remember.
Your life is precious.
Some of you may sometimes think:
“I don’t have much.”
“My family is not rich.”
“I’m not good at studying.”
“I don’t think I have any special talents.”
But none of these things determines your true value.
Each one of you is unique. There is only one person like you in the whole world.
Your value is not determined by how much money you have, how high your grades are, or how talented you are.
Your life is still at its beginning, and there are so many things you can do in the future.
What matters is how you choose to live from today.
Be sincere in your studies and work hard to learn your skills. Respect your friends and help those who are having difficulties.
Listen to your teachers, and when you make a mistake, have the courage to learn from it and begin again.
And above all, never give up on yourself.
No one knows exactly what your future will look like. But one thing is certain:
The way you live each day at this school will help shape your future.
We, your teachers and staff, do not simply want you to become people with good technical skills. We hope that you will become responsible people who respect others and contribute positively to society.
Dear students,
Your coming here today is a special encounter in your life. And every one of you is precious and irreplaceable.
So believe in yourself.
Value your friends.
Study and learn with enthusiasm.
And do your best, one day at a time.
When you graduate from this school a few years from now and look back, I hope you will be able to say:
“The years I spent at Don Bosco Erdem changed my life for the better.”
